What is Cast Iron Studios?

Cast Iron Studios is an exciting new space that serves as a venue for Private Events, Workshops, and as the hub of Heavy Restaurant Group's Catering operations. Located in the heart of downtown Bellevue, Cast Iron Studios is an ideal location for holiday parties, corporate events, receptions, galas, and auctions.

Why is it called Cast Iron studios?

Cast Iron references two of our favorite things—the cast iron skillets used in the creation of our food, and the materials that we use throughout this space and in our other restaurants (there's a reason we're called Heavy Restaurant Group...).

Who owns Cast Iron Studios?

Cast Iron Studios is part of Heavy Restaurant Group and is owned and managed by Larry and Tabitha Kurofsky. You can learn more about the people behind Cast Iron Studios on the Heavy Restaurant Group website.

Are photos available?

Yes. We have individual galleries for our Private Events, Workshops, and Catering.

Is Cast Iron different than Purple Café?

While Cast Iron and Purple Café are connected, they are two separate spaces. Purple Café is a full service restaurant and Cast Iron is a dedicated space for private events, our catering operations, and an ongoing series of workshops.

What kind of food is available at Cast Iron events?

Purple Café, Barrio, and Lot No. 3 are the exclusive caterers of Cast Iron Studios. Our talented chefs can create any array of custom menus.

How is the food served? Buffet? Communal? Plated? Reception?

All of the above. Our team can also customize the food service to fit the needs of your group.

What about drinks?

Cast Iron has a full bar available featuring premium wines, beers and spirits. In addition, our Wine Directors and Bar Managers can create an array of special and themed liquid menu options.

What parking options are available?

We provide a number of self-park and valet options for your group. Details are available on the Private Events Locations page.

How do I book a private event?

How long before my event should the planning process begin?

Every event is different but as a guideline, we suggest booking space at least 2 months before your desired event date.

What's included with a rental of Cast Iron Studios?

What is the event planning process like?

All events are slightly different but a typical planning process includes the initial inquiry, discussion with information, agreement on basics such as menus and pricing, written agreement, verification, the event and then post-event follow up.

Is there a rental fee or minimum?

What about all the little extras...flowers, music, photography?

Cast Iron is happy to provide a list of preferred vendors.

Can I bring In my own music?

There are a number of music options available for your event, from our house music system, to DJ or live band. You're welcome to bring a personal playlist or iPod as well. We can assist in providing any of those options or you can set it up on your own.
